Extensive Examination
Our extensive pain assessment exam consists of palpation and manipulation of all your pet’s joints and major muscle groups. We’ll assess your pet’s neck, shoulders, forelimbs, hindlimbs, back and tail. Our highly-trained staff is able to diagnose even the mildest pain by interpreting your pet’s responses to the exam and analyzing the results of his/her electronic gait analysis.
Review of Patient History
Prior to the extensive pain assessment exam, our doctors and staff will thoroughly review and discuss your pets past medical history, previous exams, bloodwork, and x-rays. During the examination the doctor will ask multiple questions to elicit more information on when, where, and how long your pet has been in pain.
Gait Analysis
Gait analysis provides our pain management specialist with detailed data about your pets gait allowing us to diagnose subtle discomforts not seen by simply watching your dog walk. This ensures are providing the appropriate treatment for your pet and easing your pet’s discomfort. We utilize the GaitRite electronic gait analysis system, the most comprehensive gait analysis tool currently available.

Digital Radiography
Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art digital radiography which allows us to review images immediately following the x-ray. There may be specific cases where we request interpretation by a radiologist. In such cases, we send your pet’s electronic images directly to a radiologist. Who respond within 24 hours with a detailed interpretation. You will also receive a digital copy of your pet’s radiographs to take with you.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound assists us with diagnosing inflammation and/or degeneration of tendons. It also guides us when injecting those specific tendons, confirming the proper site of injection.
